The 3Vs Framework: How to Build a Brand That Actually Feels Like You

That moment when someone asks for your website link and something in you… tightens.

You send it. But you add a disclaimer. “It’s a work in progress.” “I know it needs updating.”

You’ve got a brand. You’ve got a website. But it doesn’t feel like YOU.

Maybe you DIY’d your brand and it looks… fine. But not like YOU.

Maybe you hired someone who made it look “professional” but now it feels stiff and corporate.

Or maybe you copied what you saw other successful people in your industry doing because you thought that’s what you were supposed to do.

And now? Your brand doesn’t feel like yours. You hesitate to share your website. You second-guess your messaging. You feel like you’re wearing a costume instead of showing up as yourself.

Nobody tells you this, but your brand needs three things working together, not just one.

Most service providers focus on making their brand look pretty (visual identity) and completely ignore the other two pieces that actually make a brand WORK.

That’s where the 3V Framework comes in.

What Is the 3V Framework?

The 3V Framework is how I help service providers build brands that actually feel like them AND convert.

It’s made up of three elements:

VIBE = Your visual identity (colors, fonts, design aesthetic, how your brand FEELS)

VOICE = Your messaging (how you communicate, what you say and how you say it, your perspective)

VISIBILITY = Your website strategy (being findable, credible, and easy to work with)

Most people pick some colors they like (Vibe), slap together a website, and call it done.

Or they spend months perfecting their messaging (Voice) but their website looks like it was built in 2012.

Or they focus entirely on SEO and being “findable” (Visibility) but their brand has zero personality.

When only ONE of these is aligned, your brand still feels broken.

You need all three Vs working together to create a brand that feels right, looks cohesive, and actually converts.

Let me break down each one.

VIBE: Your Visual Identity Does More Than You Think

Your colors and fonts aren’t decoration. They’re psychology.

When someone lands on your website, your visual identity creates an instant impression.

  • Are you premium or accessible?
  • Are you creative or analytical?
  • Are you warm and approachable or polished and corporate?
  • Are you for THEM or for someone else?

All of that happens in seconds. Before they read a single word.

When your visual identity is aligned, it matches your actual personality and positioning.

  • If you’re energetic and warm, your brand feels that way.
  • If you’re bold and direct, your colors show it.
  • If you’re grounded and minimalist, your design reflects it.

Your visuals aren’t trying to be something you’re not.

But when it’s misaligned? You picked colors because they were trendy (hello, beige everything). You chose fonts because they looked “professional” (aka boring). You copied what you saw in your industry because you thought that’s what you were supposed to do.

And now your brand looks like everyone else’s. It’s safe. It’s neutral. It’s… forgettable.

Common mistakes I see all the time:

  • The Beige Trap. Neutral palette, minimal serif font, lots of white space. It’s everywhere. And unless minimalism actually fits YOUR personality, it’s just playing it safe.
  • Trend Chasing. Picking colors because they’re popular right now instead of because they fit you.
  • Industry Copying. Every therapist has the same calming blue. Every coach has the same motivational orange. Break the mold.
  • Random Choices. You picked colors “because they looked pretty that day” without thinking about what feeling they create.

Ask yourself: Does my visual identity reflect how I want people to FEEL when they work with me?

If someone lands on your website, do they immediately get a sense of who you are? Or does it feel generic, safe, and forgettable?

Your Vibe should make the right people think “oh, this feels like me.”

VOICE: Stop Sounding Like Everyone Else

If I can’t tell the difference between your About page and your competitor’s, your Voice isn’t done.

Let me guess. Your website says something like: “I’m passionate about helping clients achieve their goals through a holistic approach.”

Cool. So does literally everyone else.

Your Voice isn’t about saying the RIGHT things. It’s about saying TRUE things in a way only YOU can say them.

When your Voice is aligned, your messaging sounds like you actually talk. It reflects your values and perspective. It makes your ideal clients think “oh thank god, FINALLY someone who gets it.”

You’re not trying to sound like what you think a “professional” is supposed to sound like. You’re just being YOU.

But when it’s misaligned? Your website sounds like a LinkedIn profile written by a robot. You’re using industry jargon because you think it makes you sound credible. You’re writing like you’re applying for a job instead of connecting with humans.

You’ve watered down your personality because you’re afraid of saying something wrong.

What makes your Voice unique isn’t just WHAT you say. It’s HOW you say it.

What you believe that others in your field don’t. What’s your hot take? What do you think is broken in your industry?

What drives you crazy. What do you wish people would stop doing? What outdated advice makes you roll your eyes?

How you approach your work differently. What do you do that others don’t? What’s your unique process or perspective?

That’s what should be on your About page. Not generic statements that could apply to anyone.

How to find your actual voice:

Talk it out loud first. Don’t write. Talk. Record yourself explaining what you do like you’re talking to a friend. THEN write it down.

Write like you’re explaining it to a friend. Not a potential client. Not a stranger at a networking event. A FRIEND. How would you actually say it?

Ask what you’d say if no one was judging you. What’s the unfiltered version? Start there. Then clean it up just enough to be professional without losing your personality.

Test yourself: Read your About page and homepage out loud.

Does it sound like YOU? Or does it sound like everyone else in your industry?

If someone who knows you read it, would they say “yep, that’s totally you”? Or would they be confused about where your actual personality went?

VISIBILITY: Beautiful Doesn’t Matter If No One Can Find You

You can have the most beautiful brand and the clearest messaging on the planet.

But if no one can FIND you or UNDERSTAND what you do in 10 seconds? It doesn’t matter.

And no, showing up on Instagram every day isn’t the same thing as being visible.

When your Visibility is aligned, your website shows up when people search for what you do. SEO isn’t a mystery. It’s a strategy. And it works.

Your homepage is immediately clear. Someone lands on your website and knows in 5 seconds: who you help, what you do, and what to do next.

Your navigation makes sense. No mystery “Resources” tab that goes nowhere. No 8 different service options with no clear difference. Just simple, clear paths forward.

Your CTAs guide people. Not “Get in touch” or “Learn more.” But “Book a session” or “Schedule a call.” Clear next steps.

When your Visibility is misaligned? You’re relying entirely on social media and hoping people will find you. Your homepage says “Welcome!” (not what you do or who you help). Your services page lists everything you’ve ever done with no clear way for people to choose. You treat SEO like black magic instead of learning the basics.

Why social media isn’t enough:

Social media gets people interested. Your website gets them to actually book.

People who are ready to buy? They Google you. They look for your website. They want to see that you’re credible and professional.

If all you have is an Instagram account, you’re losing clients.

Quick audit:

Google yourself. What comes up? Does your website show up on the first page? Or is it buried under someone else with your name?

Test your homepage with fresh eyes. Can someone tell in 5 seconds what you do and who you help? Or do they have to scroll and guess?

Check your navigation. Does it make sense? Or does it have vague labels like “Services” with no context?

Look at your CTAs. Do they tell people exactly what to do next? Or are they vague and passive?

How the Three Vs Work Together

When all three Vs are aligned, something clicks.

Someone lands on your website and within seconds, they feel something. (That’s your VIBE. Your colors, fonts, and images create an instant impression.)

They start reading and think “oh, this person GETS it.” (That’s your VOICE. Your messaging sounds like you and speaks directly to them.)

They know exactly who you help, what you offer, and how to book. (That’s your VISIBILITY. Your website is clear, strategic, and guides them forward.)

And then? They reach out. Not because you convinced them. Because everything CLICKED.

But when only ONE V is aligned?

  • Beautiful brand but generic messaging. They love how it looks but have no idea what makes you different.
  • Great messaging but invisible website. They can’t find you when they search. Or your website looks outdated and unprofessional.
  • Findable website but no personality. They land on your website and it feels like every other person in your industry. Nothing stands out.

You can’t just “fix your colors” and expect your brand to suddenly feel aligned. You can’t just “rewrite your About page” and think that’s enough.

All three Vs have to work together.

When they do? That’s when you stop second-guessing. That’s when you show up with confidence. That’s when your ideal clients start reaching out.

How to Audit Your Own Brand Using the 3V Framework

Ready to see where your brand is actually broken?

VIBE Audit

Look at your visual identity. Does it match your personality? Does it create the feeling you want people to have? Or did you just pick what looked trendy or “safe”?

Quick win: Pick ONE visual element to update that better reflects who you are (colors, fonts, or imagery).

VOICE Audit

Read your About page and homepage. Does it sound like YOU? Or does it sound like everyone else in your industry? Are you using generic statements or sharing your actual perspective?

Quick win: Rewrite ONE section in your actual voice. Talk it out loud first, then write it down.

VISIBILITY Audit

Google yourself. Does your website show up? Can someone tell in 5 seconds what you do and who you help? Do your CTAs make it easy to take the next step?

Quick win: Rewrite your homepage headline to be crystal clear about who you help and how.

Identify which V is the weakest.

Usually, one stands out. Maybe your visuals are beautiful but your messaging is bland. Maybe your messaging is great but your website is nowhere to be found.

Start with the weakest V. That’s where you’ll see the biggest impact.
